The Josefina Story Quilt

"She is too old to lay eggs, too tough to eat, and she falls into rivers. OUT OF GOES!" Just then Josefina ruffled her feathers, let out a proud "Caaa--CACKLE--ackle!" and laud a beautiful big white egg. "By thunder!" Pa said. "She has begun to lay eggs again.""Wonderful!" said Ma.(The Josefina Story Quilt P 43~45)

This story is that many pioneers traveled to the West in the covered wagons to find a better life. Faith--a daughter of one of many pioneers-- reared a old hen, Josefina.Faith persuaded her family take Josefina to the West with us.Josefina has many trouble so many people didn't like it.

The quotation above is the scene that many people are accepting Josefina. It had never laid eggs long time, but it can lay fresh eggs. I think this scene is a turning point of story.
